Switchfoot Concert!

This past Thursday night was a night to remember.

At 4:15pm Steve, Jeremy, and I went down to Medford and saw a Switchfoot and Copeland concert and yes it was tons of fun! We got there around 5:00 and sat in line for a hour as we waited for the doors to open at 6. There were about 20 people when we got there and by the time they opened the doors there were
probably like 200. While we were in line two people stopped and asked Steve what was going on. It was kind of weird. There was all these people in line and yet they both stopped to talk to Steve, what a guy! I don't think he really liked it. There was also this radio station there that was reporting live outside the concert and they
had this contest where someone could win backstage passes to meet Switchfoot and all that...none of us won.

We finally made it into the building and got to
stand in the middle of the room for about another hour as the crowd filled up more and more until we were all smashed up and boy was it hot! My legs were so sore after Thursday night
after standing for like 5 hours straight, but it was
worth it.

Copeland started to play first at 7:15pm and since there drummer was not there they played
acoustic show and did about 6 songs and I
thought they were awesome, but it is too bad they didn't have a drummer because the crowded needed to get into it. We needed energy.

After Copeland played there was 25-30min break in between bands as they had to tune every single guitar that Switchfoot had and it was the same guy over and over who kept coming out. After awhile Steve and I were making jokes about the guy kept coming
out and it was probably the heat that was getting to us. I bet it was like 85-90 degrees in there.
Now on to the main event. Switchfoot came out
rocking and never let down. I figured they played around 18 songs in there set list and each one got the crowd jumping and just going crazy. It was SO awesome! Switchfoot played with so much energy! The singer was all over the stage and music was perfectly loud. In one part of the concert the singer grabbed a cymbal from the drum set and just started hitting as hard as he could while the guitar played started soloing. Another time during a song the singer asked for
help from the crowd because he needed someone
to play a cowbell for them and some guy got on
stage and was going crazy. That was pretty cool!
At the "last" song the singer crowd surfed while he sang and let crowd sing the chorus and all that.
It was sweet! The concert was just plain fun and by the time I left I was sweating like crazy and my legs were like mush.

All and all I am glad I went!

The lead singer is recording an album right now with Sean Watkins. Their website is going to be (I think) www.therealseanjon.com

We'll see.
